For the erotica reader, this book is definitely well written; of the genre, I think it deserves the 4-star rating. The scenes are sexy and scorching, and the book is certainly composed of mostly 'those scenes.' As a reader who picks up straight erotica once in a blue moon, this definitely fit the bill -- the last book I read that gave me the same feelings would have been COWBOY HEAVEN back in March. Like that book, this one definitely can be categorized as erotica in my opinion; and, also in my opinion, not many books labeled as such truly are.So putting that aside, and going into the real meat of the story, the part that truly draws me in to a book -- the characterization and plot line. The idea? Fabulous. I loved it. Would I do something of the sort? Not likely, but I can understand the thought and heck, if auctioning off your virginity can get you a cool three-quarters K, then yeah, go for it if that's what you want to do. Kyle is also safe about it -- well, at least as safe as one can be with the internet and auctions.
Then there's Caspian. During the main scenes, he's an extremely confident male lead, and could be quite enjoyable -- however, leading up to those scenes? He honestly creeped me out. And because of that, I just couldn't really enjoy his character. He was the first to admit that some would call his behaviors stalking, but he didn't find it to be. Me personally? I found him to be a tad bit creepy.
These two have a previous history, so Caspian's desires were believable; Kyle's personality, too, jived well with the way she was written.
And finally, the end of the book... Definitely my type of ending. I only wish we could have seen a little bit more.

The Virgin Auction edition by Jessa Fox Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This is a very short story 50+ pages but it has surprisingly crammed quite a lot in.
Kyle, a young lady (I kept thinking male due to the name) has decided with some considerable encouragement from her friend to auction off her virginity! She has got to her twenties & needs to pay for her education, plus wants to donate some to a cancer charity in memory of her deceased sister .. so she puts herself out there online much to her father’s disgust.
Little known to her though a former school mate has been keeping an eye on her movements over the years & can’t believe his luck when his childhood sweetheart is suddenly available ‘for sale’. So Caspian is determined to bid until he wins .. he just conveniently happens to be a millionaire otherwise the story would have come to an abrupt end there!
Having won his desire he is determined to spoil her rotten & make the ‘act’ as pleasurable & memorable as possible. Once Kyle realises who he is they seem to click .. I think I would have been more concerned about him potentially stalking me but there you go .. so what should be one night of passion turns into a steamy rompfest.
For a quick read & the ability to lose yourself for a little while this is a great story .. it does contain some (a lot) of explicit scenes so go in prepared.
Thanks to Jessa & Tasty Book Tour’s for the opportunity to read this in exchange for my honest opinion.
This is my first book by Jessa Fox and I believe it’s her debut book too, but I’m not sure so don’t take my word on it.
So Kyle is a virgin and inexperienced in sex, although she may have gotten close to it or had done some pretty naughty things, most likely oral, she’s still a virgin and has kept that part of her for that special someone. But that someone has never shown up. She has dreams of becoming a doctor and going to medical school but being tight on money and not having anyway to pay for tuition she decides to auction off her virginity to the highest bidder. She’s the good girl on the curvy side with a slim tummy and honey thick thighs and gorgeous as hell. She’s sweet, kind, thoughtful, and generous, and of course a percentage of the auction will go to charity. However, unbeknownst to her, the winner of her virginity is Caspian, who happened to have gone to middle school with her.
Demanding is what came to mind about Caspian. Well, in bed. He likes to be begged and in control… does that count as being demanding? He’s a couple of years older then Kyle and had this huge crush on her back then. I’ll say he still does even though it’s been 10 years. He has kept tabs on her, stalker like, and that’s how’s he found out about the auction. He wasn’t going to let her give it away to some horny stranger, so it’s going to be him. On the other note, he’s definitely a perfectionist, wanting everything to go as planned and follow a guideline and time frame, but he’s also very charming and a gentleman, wanting to please and make everything comfortable and relaxing as possible. He was once that chubby kid that every one picked on but also those kids who grew up to be the handsome devil you wish you never picked on. He definitely gets things his way one way or another and with all the money he has, it can be done easily. If things doesn’t go his way, he can be a sulking king. But then again, he knows what he likes and will have it no other way.
The story is told from a first person point of view, switching from Caspian to Kyle which was good. I liked knowing what was going on in their minds and how they saw each other. They had their reasons in being the auctionee and the buyer/bidder which I liked and would have liked to have seen more of, or at least those sides of them more. We didn’t really get to know either of them to feel attached, so it was just a fly by. Kyle has a friend name Kristen and she was more interesting to me than Kyle was. She had sass and attitude and says it like it is, so her character was definitely more interesting. The writing could have used some editing. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t good either.
This being an erotic, there wasn’t much of a storyline or romance, just lots of sex scenes which I usually like but without a story to hold most of it up, it was just sex after sex scenes. It was eehhh to me. The breaks in between those scenes were good because we actually got to see them do something outside of the bedroom, even if for a bit. And it being a super short read, it was rushed at the end.
On the other hand, I had problems with this story. (Spoilers!!!)
Kyle was supposed to just have sex and get it over with. She also had a contract she wrote of what can and cannot happen during the sex. I’m not sure what’s on that contract but BDSM, kinky, erotic stuff mustn’t have been on there because Caspian tied her up, had a vibrator, and did anal. Also, isn’t she supposed to be in charge? He seemed to have taken control once they got into the bedroom, like a Dom, and she had taken the position as a sub responding in yeses and what not to him. First thing popped up, 50 Shades.
Anyways, she definitely didn’t think this through even though she was nervous about her safety, being asked to do strange sex things, etc…. These kinky stuff should be on the list of strange sex things for a beginner, right?
And the no feelings attach? Yeah, it just went right out the window. She started thinking about how he felt for her the very next morning after their night. He obviously has feelings for her because of their history but for her to all of a sudden change like that? I was like whoa~ hold on there, you don’t even know this guy. He’s like a total creep and stalker. He even told her he kept tabs on her for years and that didn’t even freak her out.
The biggest problem I had, and is maybe a pet peeve for many readers, was the first time they did it, there was NO Condom usage! But not just that, no, he released in her! Ejeculated! On Her first time!!! Like HELLO!! That should be the first thing on the contract! And then she still didn’t say anything about it afterwards or mentioned it at all, in fact never. I literally was punching myself.
Knowing this was her first time and then knowing that she didn’t say anything about it (despite having a list and contract on the condition of the auction being sex only) just didn’t back up all her safety precautions. That should have been the number one thing on her precautions and rule list, but no, she didn’t even blank; she actually liked it and wants it. For a 23 year old, she should know the consequences. She didn’t even take the after pill, nor did they ever thought about it afterwards, not a single word or worry. They just kept at it with no protection and he kept on cumming in her. That just didn’t play with me. *sighs* For Kyle to dream about being a doctor right?
She was just breaking all her rules. I just couldn’t.
So over all, it was okay if you like erotic tales with lots of sex and little storyline. I wasn’t really interested truth be told. The voice was just very bland and it was just a quick read. There wasn’t any real readership engagement so I wasn’t invested in their “relationship”. I do like them individually and with what they’re doing, aside from that huge pet peeve that I ranted about, they worked well with each other but they’re not a couple I’ll remember.
This is my first book by this author. The story was amazing. I loved the plot and the main characters. I look forward to reading more!
